MASTER FILE
LIFE IN TUDOR TIMES

KEY STAGE 2

This book is a comprehensive coverage of the material needed for the National Curriculum at
Key Stage 2. At this level, it is necessary to start
from a chronological framework putting the Tudors firmly in the 16th century. Next, children need to have a knowledge and understanding of Tudor attitudes and beliefs, the reasons why they acted
in the ways they did. Where there are different interpretations of the same event these should
be given. Children must be encouraged to find
out about Tudor history for themselves. To do
this they need access to primary sources, if
possible, examining copies of documents and artefacts. Visits to Tudor buildings, sites and museums are essential. Children should learn to organise historical information and be able to communicate their knowledge through description and narrative.
